We have acquired, developed, and managed properties in Midtown, Chinatown, East Harlem, Washington Heights, Long Island City, Greenpoint, and Bushwick in New York City. We actively supports non-profit organizations that strengthen and support our community. In addition to supporting associate volunteer activities, each year Ironstone pledges a minimum of 10% of annual profits to be donated to non-profit organizations with a proven track record of providing vital community services and the arts to the public. These organizations include the NYPL, BRIC & the Public Theater.
MORWIN SCHMOOKLER, Founder & CEO
Morwin Schmookler, Ironstone’s Principal, has acted as a Managing Partner in the acquisition, redevelopment and management of multi-family, mixed-use and retail properties throughout New York City for over 15 years. He has also acquired and repositioned retail shopping centers in the Southeast and Midwest. Mr. Schmookler is a licensed real estate broker in New York and an active member of ICSC, ULI and REBNY.
Mr. Schmookler has been a resident of New York City his entire life and is involved in various philanthropic works, primarily focusing on arts and education projects at the New York Public Library, Hampshire College and the Public Theater. He is currently a member of the Education Committee and the Young Lions Committee at the NYPL and a member of the Young Partner Board at the Public Theater in New York.
JANE UPTON, CFO
Jane Upton brings over 35 years of real estate experience to Ironstone Partners. Ms. Upton began her career as an accounts manager and over time developed an extensive knowledge of the various aspects of real estate management. Together with Mr. Schmookler she has been involved in the acquisition, management, and disposition of various multi-family, mixed-use, and retail properties in New York City and across the United States, including a hotel in Manhattan’s Chelsea.
